\u201cI get a little antsy, as I\u2019m sure you know. And I was sitting next to Michelle, that\u2019s who I sit next to at funerals,\u201d joked Bush, as he referenced the protocol of having a former president sit beside a former first lady (Obama) for official events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was kinda teasing her and stuff, and I slipped her an Altoid. Not as a joke, but I thought she might want one,\u201d he continued, finally explaining what he\u2019d given her during the funeral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People on the social media have found his hilarious, as it looked like he was telling her about her seemingly bad breath, with one person writing on X: \u201cBush just wanted mints and peace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another wrote: \u201cSo George W basically suggested to Michael Obama that [s]he had bad breath without actually saying it.\u201d<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

According to Bush, this moment wasn\u2019t something he thought would start so much talking online, as he told Jenna: \u201cAnd I got in the car afterwards and you said, \u2018You\u2019re trending\u2019. I didn\u2019t know what trending meant.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, he went on to reveal that people may have been so shocked because they aren\u2019t used to political figures from different parties being pally pally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt turns out the country is starved to see,\u201d he said, \u201ca white center right Republican and an African-American center left Democrat having fun, and being able to converse, not as political figures, but as citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
